Why Radiant Heat?
Warm floor technologies, in particular warm floors, are increasingly becoming an integral component of high performance green building design. It is one of the low-temperature heating technologies that are believed to reduce energy consumption and perform efficiently under most building configurations. In the United States, most homes and offices are equipped with air-conditioning systems that utilize the principle of convection and mechanical ventilation to circulate warm or cooled air indoors with built-in fans. As the technology relies solely on the forced distribution of treated air for maintaining thermal comfort and indoor air quality, it tries to balance the components of outdoor and return air to economize energy consumption by compromising on healthy indoor environment. For all-air systems, problems with relatively high-energy use, high costs, poor indoor air quality, draught and noise, have often initiated explorations for new solutions for heating and cooling of buildings. Low temperature heating and high temperature cooling of buildings are potential solutions for these problems. One such approach involves technologies called radiant heating or cooling. The technology promises opportunities in energy efficiency of moving heat via air vs. water and cost effectiveness, while maintaining a healthy indoor environment. Thus, we move from the concept of Air-conditioning to Space conditioning.
Competitive Edge
Noyes Enterprises has developed low profile modular radiant heat warm floor panel systems with an eco-friendly design that incorporates many unique features. We have leveraged our industry knowledge and expertise to incorporate the best underlayment features into our design. Additionally, our product is designed with the installer in mind with centerlines and cutting grid templates pre-scribed into the panels. Installation times are significantly decreased. No need for a straight edge and tape measure for most of the cuts. Install in tight areas or closets with ease. This reduced time means lower bids to homeowners.
Product Performance
HeatPly performs well during the installation and continues being efficient year over year. Heating systems work well when they are always operating at a set temperature. But in reality, most of us use thermostats with timers so what becomes important is response time. Warm floor systems, with their closer spacing are so responsive they seem to heat up on command. Closer tubing spacing and diffusion channels means quicker response times. Closer spacing also means more water on the floor which equates to lower operating temperatures. This all adds up to a very efficient system whether your using the system continually or intermittently with zones and timers...
